12 Week Induction Program for New Students
Evaluation of age and fitness level.
Thorough warm up, suitable to fitness level and ability at the beginning of each lesson comprising of aerobic and anaerobic exercises. Warm down at the end of lesson.
First six weeks
Develop and learn to work from the basic fighting stance on the spot.
Basic strikes, punches, kicks, and simple combination techniques are introduced.
Emphasis is placed on developing co-ordination and improving fitness.
Rest period given every 15 minutes, more frequently if necessary in early stages.
New students are coached in small groups, when possible the coaching is conducted one to one.
Second Six Weeks
Tentatively at first the student is introduced to the concept of moving off the spot while executing the previously taught techniques.
The range of techniques is gradually expanded and the intensity of the training increased.
The syllabus provides a structured and organised approach to learning the system. The first two pages have been developed to accommodate the new student and as such, adequately satisfies the induction requirement.
The average student should be ready to attempt the first grading examination at the end of the initial 12 week period, provided that the student attends a minimum of 2 Lessons per week uninterrupted, and is able to demonstrate the required amount of commitment, determination, and desire.
